After the wave of Cam Newton and Nick Cannon’s interviews, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant doubles down on her stance on familiar dysfunction in the Black family and explains how she defines “broken homes.” In this Breakfast Club interview, Dr. Bryant urges for a cultural shift and conversation between Black men and women about how we do […]

Just an hour’s drive, depending on traffic, or a 45-minute train ride away from Pompeii is the coastal town of Sorrento. In Sorrento, time slows. It’s where every moment is an aesthetic image waiting to be posted. The town sits majestically on cliffs that overlook the azure waters of the Bay of Naples. At sunset, […]
If you are new here, I’ll get you up to speed. This day trip to Pompeii is part of a more extensive vacation where I tour Italy and Greece, also known as my Euro Summer 2 trip (#ES2). After spending a few days in Rome, it was time to head south to Pompeii. Remarkably preserved […]
After spending the afternoon walking around Rome, taking pictures, and sipping Bellinis while looking at the Pantheon, it was time to test my cooking skills. I don’t think I’m a good cook, I know I’m a great cook, but pasta-making was a little difficult. We attended InRome Cooking‘s three-hour class, and it was a very […]
If you haven’t scrolled through your feed and seen a Euro Summer takeover, I’m not sure what side of social media you are on. The last time I stepped off a plane in Europe was two years ago when I visited London, Paris, and Barcelona. That trip triggered a chain of events in my life […]

Black women podcasters in today’s landscape add flavor to the hum of voices across the podcast sphere. As trailblazers amplify underrepresented voices and tackle issues of significance, black women podcasters like the ladies of The Black Girls’ Den (BDG) pave the way for enriching conversations and meaningful connections.
The Black Girls’ Den is located at the intersection of personal growth and pop culture. Before you enter, you need to know a few things: this podcast is for the gowrls. The girls creating their own lane, the small-town girls with bigger dreams, and the girls searching for support, direction, and some connection.
Hosted by Alieshia (@queenlieshia) and Surea (@asshesays), the BGD aims to be a safe space for young Black women to be seen and heard in sharing their life experiences and stories related to womanhood, careers, and travel.
If you feel you meet the criteria, please enter the den; Alieshia and Surea are welcoming, providing a friendly feel to their audience as they break down topics of the day. The Black Girls Den is refreshing, consistent, and encouraging across all podcasting and social media platforms.
Segments like Big City Dreams featured in their Chase Your Dreams Like Tabitha Brown episode encourage viewers and give advice on navigating new spaces and overcoming fears of the unknown regardless of where you are in life. If you don’t know where to start, I recommend you check out episodes 9, 10, and 22, my favorites from this pod; I felt so seen when the ladies broke down topics like social media and mental health, how to avoid burnout, and advice on financing your dream as a Black woman.
