Just an hour’s drive, depending on traffic, or a 45-minute train ride away from Pompeii is the coastal town of Sorrento. In Sorrento, time slows. It’s where every moment is an aesthetic image waiting to be posted. The town sits majestically on cliffs that overlook the azure waters of the Bay of Naples. At sunset, […]
If you are new here, I’ll get you up to speed. This day trip to Pompeii is part of a more extensive vacation where I tour Italy and Greece, also known as my Euro Summer 2 trip (#ES2). After spending a few days in Rome, it was time to head south to Pompeii. Remarkably preserved […]
After spending the afternoon walking around Rome, taking pictures, and sipping Bellinis while looking at the Pantheon, it was time to test my cooking skills. Greek cuisine is highly underrated, and for the reasons you think. Of course, we know Greek food is healthy, but the flavor of the cuisine seems to be often overlooked. While exploring Greece, I frequently asked what seasonings were used to prepare whatever dish I’d just devoured. I was shocked, I was giving “vacuum” vibes. Of course, fast food chains like Cava shouldn’t be the baseline, so I encourage you to include local Greek restaurants in your nightlife experience.
From what I’ve tasted, seen, and heard, herbs are the key ingredients in Greek food. Thyme, Dill, Mint, and Oregano are all essentials for creating bold flavor in Greek Cuisine. I found Greek food to be savory with hints of citrus. Greek food isn’t spicy, but I did have some hot sauce that hit the spot while I was sampling different meats.
